Safety Coordinator The Safety Coordinator position is responsible for providing support to E&T electric, LLC, management team, project management team and maintenance teams.
This position will provide coordination of the on-site contractor management program with emphasis and expertise in Electrical Safety.
Essential Duties/
Responsibilities:
Support the development, implementation, and assessment of E& T Electric, LLC safety management system.
Participate and lead job site evaluation and inspections before or during each project with contractors, project management and Operations representatives to analyze safety risks.
Conduct safety audits on a regular basis and provide safety expertise in response to all identified deficiencies and requests for safety assistance with emphasis on electrical safety as outlined by NFPA 70E.
Coordinate and lead safety orientations to educate employees on safety standards and expectations.
Participate, investigate, and provide support in incident investigations that occur onsite to include reporting, tracking system entry, documenting/following up on corrective actions and identifying possible causes of the incident.
Maintain documentation of the company's safety procedures, accidents, and related events.
Track and review all incident reports for trends and help develop necessary corrective actions.
Act as a liaison between management and external safety agencies, such as contractors and OSHA on-site auditors.
Maintain and issue personal protective equipment.
Attend required safety team meetings and any other contractor-related meetings.
Conduct weekly in-person or virtual site safety meetings with all onsite staff, including contractors.
Promote E&T's safety culture by increasing safety awareness and attitude.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Degree in environmental health and safety OR equivalent work experience and a minimum of 5 years' experience of safety leadership in Electrical/Construction experience.
Prior Lineman experience preferred.
Professional certifications a plus (CSP, ASP, CHST, STSC).
Strong background in Electrical Construction preferred (familiar with NFPA 70E, Testing, Lockout Tagout, and other electrical methods of procedure).
Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety and health regulations.
Familiarity with relevant industry standards and guidelines, including OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, NEC, and NIOSH.
Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills with effective interpersonal skills.
Ability to give clear direction and support to client groups to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Demonstrates proactive and responsible attitude for personal safety and the safety of co-workers, contractors, and the public.
Demonstrates proficiency in the use of computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook) products and the use of database applications.
Effective time management and organizational skills; ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Team oriented, flexible, and able to work independently in a fast-paced setting with minimal supervision.
Basic math skills required.
Valid Driver's License and ability to pass a DOT drug screen.
Ability to climb, stand for extended periods of time, bending, and can lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to wear personal protective equipment, including but not limited to a hard hat, hearing protection, safety shoes, protective clothing, safety harness, and respiratory protection (as required).
Must be able to work outdoors for prolonged periods in all weather conditions up to and including heat, rain, and snow.
